Sharp Will Demonstrate High Resolution Audio Wireless Universal Player at Azione Unlimited Spring Conference

Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America (SEMCA) today announced it will demonstrate the award-winning SD-WH1000U Universal Player at the Azione Unlimited Spring Conference, scheduled for March 19-21, 2014 in Las Vegas. The demonstration will also include Sharp’s Wireless Speaker and Audio (WiSA™) – compliant bridge (VR-WR100U), a powerful Krell integrated amplifier, a pair of Monitor Audio Platinum 200 Speakers and the new Sharp AQUOS® Q+ LED Smart TV (LC-60UQ17). This premier system was carefully assembled to effectively demonstrate how true High Resolution 24 bit/96 kHz Audio can be enjoyed in full fidelity, wirelessly via the new WiSA standard.

The First Component to Transmit Uncompressed Sound at 24-bit/96kHz & Video at Full HD (1080p) – Wirelessly

The SD-WH1000 Universal Player has been recognized by the CEA as a 2014 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honoree, was named “Best Blu-ray Player of CES 2014” by HD Guru, and received Ultra HD TV Magazine’s “Best of CES Award” for Ultra HD Audio.

Sharp’s WiSA-compliant Universal Player is capable of wirelessly transmitting up to 7.1 channels of 24 bit/96 kHz High resolution audio via WiSA, while also wirelessly transmitting full 1080p HD video via WiHD. This state of the art product features the highest quality components, handpicked by Sharp’s engineers featuring numerous innovations in chassis structure and materials, a robust power supply design and a unique new Multi-Format optical disc drive that is more stable for accurate reading of disc data.

The terminals includes 3 HDMI terminals (1 MHL compatible), Optical and Coaxial Digital inputs and outputs, and both balanced and unbalanced stereo output terminals. The product will be compatible with an array of automation standards including Crestron, AMX and Control4 and includes both Ethernet and RS 232 connectivity.

The Universal Player will be built to the WiSA standards, which were developed by the WiSA association, of which Sharp is a member. The product uses spread spectrum technology in the 5 GHz Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (U-NII) frequency band to provide 24-bit surround sound at up to 96kHz.

The SD-WH1000U Universal Player will be available in June 2014 at a MSRP of $4,999 and the VR-WR100U Wireless Bridge will also be available in May at a MSRP of $999. The demonstration will take place in Suite Muse 1 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.
