Azione Lighting Initiative Enables Dealers to Become More Profitable
Chester Springs, PA – (August 23, 2018) – For San Diego–based Acoustic Evolution, lighting represents a key part of the integration firm’s portfolio, but also, as the lighting category grows, an opportunity to be the go-to contractor for lighting design in the home. With the help of Azione Unlimited’s Lighting Initiative, Allen Tremble, owner of Acoustic Evolution, was able to execute the lighting design, specification, and installation on a deeper level for several profitable lighting systems alongside the home automation and entertainment systems.
Azione Unlimited’s Lighting Initiative, which launched in May 2018, gives dealers another opportunity to “own the home” by creating an easier path for member dealers to enter this highly lucrative market.
“Oftentimes, homeowners end up giving the lighting and lighting control aspect of a project to the electrician or lighting control guy,” says Tremble. “But contractors and homeowners are starting to see that it’s more beneficial for integrators like us to do the lighting control as well, because then there is only one programmer in the house, all systems tie together, and it gets done faster.”
Azione members are choosing from a breadth of unique lighting options from direct vendor programs, including LumaStream, Coastal Source, Savant & USAI, and more.
“I think lighting is really exciting, it’s a physical thing and I’ve always said that integrators need to focus on the physical things so as to protect their business and raise it to an even higher level,” says Azione Unlimited President Richard Glikes.
Having access to lighting resources is also a big part of the Azione Unlimited Lighting Initiative. Wolfers Lighting, a Boston-based lighting distributor, officially joined Azione in April 2018 as a vendor member, giving dealers access to a dedicated team of lighting designers to expertly lead projects.
“The level of complexity in the lighting category is significant, far deeper than one might think. But, AV integrators are uniquely suited to tackling complex problems so it’s a great fit, ” says Gerry Lynch, President of Wolfers Lighting. “I feel lighting is a tremendous opportunity for AV integrators.”
“It’s safe to say that we have already had great success with Acoustic Evolution lighting installations we are working on, but we are now being exposed to and taking advantage of opportunities we wouldn’t have had because we are able to offer a more comprehensive solution through Azione,” Tremble adds. “In a recent install, we were able to sell not only a Savant and Lutron system but all the lighting fixtures as well. That’s another $80K of lighting fixtures I sold the homeowner…and they look great and the customer couldn’t be happier with the end result.”
