We didn’t start in a garage and we weren’t born from a few college roommates coming up with a brilliant idea while playing video games. As it turns out, we arrived through evolution fueled by integration. Our story is about Ron Callis, Jr., an opportunistic mechanical engineer with tremendous people skills, unbridled energy, and a passion for excellence. With a Mechanical Engineering degree from Virginia Tech under his hood and successful sales career tracks at two innovative, leading technology manufacturers, Lutron and Crestron, the spark was ignited for Ron to build and drive his own high performance business. After helping hundreds of technology service professionals expand their companies with smart home technology and light control solutions, the wheels began turning for Ron to leverage his engineering know-how, assertive sales ingenuity, and industry experience.

In 2007 he founded Firefly Design Group which has become a leading design, engineering and consulting firm specializing within the integrated technology space. Although there were plenty of new clients to pick up at the start, only one year down the road the obstacles began to pile up (especially in Florida). Over several challenging years following the economic meltdown in 2008, the perseverance of Ron and the belief and support of his wife, Danielle, never hit the brakes. In fact, everything accelerated. Ron saw the opportunity that clients needed help more than ever before to maximize their marketing investments to generate growth. During this time, Ron integrated his team’s design talent and his marketing and sales knowledge to begin developing and delivering the services that form One Firefly today. Soon enough, in 2012 industry veteran and pioneering business leader, Federico Bausone, partnered with Ron to form One Firefly, LLC, the parent company to the Firefly brand of companies including a new addition, Firefly Programming.

The presence of all things digital significantly increased in 2013. Our clients were adding more digital solutions to their product and service mix. And at the same time, the reality hit that a solid online presence was no longer just something “nice to have” when running a business. We responded by adding more talent to our team and developing new services to help our clients adapt and succeed in today’s digital marketplace. And just like that (plus an incredible amount of hard work and dedication to improving our craft), we have become what we are now – a high geared integrated marketing systems provider – helping over 500 technology service professionals around the world to grow. And that’s with only a few laps under our belt. 2014 marks the start of a turbo charged year for us offering unprecedented growth. Stay tuned. And watch us have a good time doing what we do.
